Douai Abbey: The Monastery of St Edmund, King & Martyr
Published in News · 21 March 2021
» Over the past week the Douai community has been undergoing its quadrennial visitation by the Abbot President. Abbot Christopher Jamison was assisted in the visitation by Abbot Nicholas Wetz of Downside, who attended by Zoom, thanks to Covid as did the non-resident brethren. The visitation formally concluded yesterday when the visitors presented their report to the whole community, assembled at Douai and online. The result was very positive though the visitors have given us food for thought and prayer.

» Not quite a biblical plague, but a troublesome number of badgers have been ravaging the lawns around the abbey church. Makers of shaving brushes are welcome to help themselves to as many as they can carry.
