Douai Abbey: The Monastery of St Edmund, King & Martyr
Published in News · 8 February 2021
» In many ways it has been a quiet week. The annual Douai Magazine is now with the printers and should be available by next week.

» On 3 February, Dr David Petts, an Old Dowegian,  gave a lecture by Zoom on his recent archaeological dig on Lindisfarne. He is in the Department of Archaeology at Durham University. At the lecture’s end, he acknowledged that he had been in a monastic school himself.

» During the week we heard of the deaths of two Old Dowegians, Andrew Kerr, aged only 43, and Peter Moore, who also taught in our former school in the 1980s. May they rest in peace.

» We have also heard of the death in Italy on 2 February of Peter Broadbridge, the brother of our late Fr Nicholas. He was a couple of weeks short of his 95th birthday. May he rest in peace.
