Douai Abbey: The Monastery of St Edmund, King & Martyr
Published by HSK in News · 18 June 2018
» Last Friday Fr Boniface arrived at Douai to spend a couple of weeks recuperating from his recent stroke, from which he has recovered very well indeed.

» Also last Friday Fr Abbot was in Stratford-upon-Avon for a service in memory of Fr Alexander's mother, Cath. Her funeral during the winter was disrupted by heavy snow and many were unable to get to there; this memorial service was to remedy that act of nature.

» Today Nick, our groundsman, returned to work after a spell recovering from a car accident. It is good to see him back with us.

» This past weekend we had four men, their ages ranging from the early 20s to mid-40s, staying with us on a monastic experience weekend, which passed very happily. Though these weekends are not only for vocational purposes, we do hope that by these weekends some young Catholic men might hear a call to join us.
