Douai Abbey: The Monastery of St Edmund, King & Martyr

» Fr Geoffrey attended the celebrations on 15 May for the millennium of the foundation of the abbey of St Edmund in Bury St Edmunds, of whch Douai is the successor community. He preached in the crypt after vespers.
» On 20 May, the freshly-restored portrait of the 17th-century prioress of the English Carmelites in Antwerp, Margaret Wake, returned to Douai where it will hang in the library.
» The past weekend Abbot Paul was in Cardiff attending the celebration marking the retirement of Archbishop George Stack.
» The monastery parish is holding coffee mornings in May, June and July in support of Ukrainian refugees and their hosts. The mornings offer opportunities to foster a sense of community and welcome. All are invited. You can find more information at https://www.douaiparish.org.uk/ukraine.
