Douai Abbey: The Monastery of St Edmund, King & Martyr
Published by HSK in News · 25 February 2020
On Thursday last week the community took delivery of another set of choirstalls by George Pace, to joing the Pace stalls already in the abbey church and acquired from Ely Cathedral in 2018. The new stalls were made in 1973 for St Albans Cathedral but had come to rest at the church of the Precious Blood in Southwark, from whom we are grateful to have acquired them. They are of a similar vintage to the Ely stalls, and their design is very similar. They have been placed in the sanctuary to increase the seating there for the community at Mass.
