General Chapter

» Last week saw the conclusion of the quadriennial General Chapter of the English Benedictine Congregation held at Buckfast, delayed a year by Covid. Lasting 10 days it covered a number of topics including safeguarding and formation, as well as aggregaating three communities of nuns to the Congregation. One consequence of this expansion is to make the EBC more international, as the new monasteries are in Ireland, Sweden, and Australia. At the General Chapter from Douai were Abbot Paul, Fr Edmund and Fr Oliver.
» Covid has struck again these last few weeks, with a number of the brethren, both at the monastery and on the missions, testing positive and some falling quite ill with it.
» The autumn offerings in the pastoral programme have been added to the Pastoral Programme page.
