Last Sunday the ducks that seemed to be casing the pond in the monks’ garden disappeared, to our dismay. However, yesterday they were spotted again. We are hoping they will settle here and raise happy ducklings.

Over the weekend an international crew of Jesuit scholastics studying at Heythrop College stayed in the Cottages, joining us for Mass and the Office while they enjoyed a short retreat.

Yesterday saw Fr Hugh in London on a Trustee Training day with Buzzacotts, and Fr Oliver at Cuddesdon College for a Theology and Art conference. So, as locum tenens for the shepherd, Fr Gabriel made the happy discovery of 4 lambs in our meadow. On returning, Fr Hugh used the remaining light to spray them and give them some booster feed. Having survived a frosty night, the twin boys and twin boy and girl had their tails docked today. Photos from last night are attached.
