Published by HSK in News · 28 June 2020
» There has been a bumper crop of garlic. Moreover, the weather has provided ideal conditions for the fruit trees and we expect a bumper harvest this year.

» The community were shocked and saddened at the news of the murder of three people in the Forbury Gardens in central Reading this week. The gardens are within the abbey precinct and adjoin St James' Catholic Church. We have prayed for the victims and their families.

» A thoughtful parishioner has provided us with a 6000-piece jigsaw of the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel to help our recreation. The Last Judgement is to follow.

» Father Oliver, the Guestmaster, has just completed a survey relating to our ministry of hospitality to help us plan for the future after the lockdown has been lifted.

» Two areas of lawn adjoining the abbey church are being left unmown so as to allow the clover to flower for the bees.
