Douai Abbey: The Monastery of St Edmund, King & Martyr
Published by HSK in News · 5 October 2020
» Due to logistical issues the guesthouse will not be reopening on 6 October as announced a few weeks ago, and it will remain closed for the time being. We regret the need to do this, but Covid has made planning difficult. As soon as a new date for reopening is determined it will be anounced here.

» The planned visit by Fr Abbot on 1 October to Bl Hugh Faringdon School in Reading was also affected. Instead of Mass for the new pupils he gave a videp presentation on Bl Hugh and on the Benedictine life.

» On Sunday Fr Abbot offered Mass at Winchester College, returning to the newly renovated Michla chapel which is now a flexible worship space. Sunday worship is now voluntary at the collehe while Covid restrictions are in place. Neverthless 33 boys came, the healthiest Sunday attendance at the college of all.
