» Yesterday two carloads of monks motored to Liverpool from Douai. Fr Abbot along with Frs Alban, Bernard, Peter and Oliver joined Frs Godric, Boniface and Alexander at the metropolitan cathedral in Liverpool to sing vespers. The vespers was ffollowed by a public lecture given by Fr Alban detailing the contribution of the Benedictines to the Church of Liverpool over the last 800 years. Fr Godric, who is vicar for religious in the archdiocese of Liverpool, organized the event to coincide with the Church's Year of Consecrated Life. Joining them were several Ampleforth brethren who have parishes in the archdiocese. By all accounts the occasion went swimmingly indeed.

» On the weekend Fr Terence was admitted to West Berkshire Hospital where certain mobility issues are being addressed by the medical staff. Moving around has not been easy for him since he returned to the monastery.
