Douai Abbey: The Monastery of St Edmund, King & Martyr
Published by HSK in News · 1 October 2015
» After what proved to be a very successful exhibition, the Wintour vestments have finally been packed up for shipment to the last stage of their united exhibition, at Auckland Castle in County Durham. 737 people signed the exhibition visitors' book, so there may be a few extra visitors who did not. Almost all the exhibition guidebooks have been sold. All in all, we feel that Douai has done its bit in enabling people to see the wonderful items that make up the collection of vestments produced under the aegis of Helen Wintour.

» Fr Terence is still in West Berkshire Hospital, where he has been made as comfortable as possible and is receiving attentive care. He has weakened appreciably, so we continue to ask your prayers for him.

» This week the Catholic Archives Society is staying at Douai. After a few talks given by the abbot, they have been making a number of visits to sites of interest in the area. They were the last group to see the Wintour vestments before the exhibition was dismantled.

» As ever the monks are busy doing various things, both here and elsewhere. In the past few days Fr Hugh has made his annual visit to Thorngrove prep school, and Fr Gabriel has visited St Domninic's school in Harrow.
