Published by HSK in News · 18 July 2018
» On Tuesday last week Fr Gervase travelled to Norwich to stay two nights with our chapter of oblates there.

» Last weekend Fr Abbot was in Ormskirk covering the Masses there while Frs Godric and Boniface recover from recent health issues. On Monday Fr Godric was hospitalized again. Please keep him in your prayers. This coming weekend Fr Hugh will covering the Masses in Ormskirk.

» On Monday the community spent the morning in another round of the the twice-yearly church clean, when we give the abbey church a good spit-and-polish spruce up.

» Yesterday Fr Abbot went to Oulton Abbey in Staffordshire for a meeting if its trustees, returning to Douai by way of Colwich Abbey.

» The sad demise of the music label Lammas has seen about 300 copies of The Sounds of Bach find a resting place at Douai. Playing the Tickell organ in our abbey church, the noted organist Terence Charlston plays 70 lovely minutes of Bach. You can see the playlist here. But there is no need to pay the retail price; the CD is on sale in the abbey church shop for a mere £5. Come in and grab a bargain!
