» Today Fr Abbot is at Mount St Bernard Abbey in Leicestershire for the solemn blessing of Dom Erik Varden OCSO as that community's abbot. A couple of years ago Dom Erik gave the Douai monastic community a most insightful annual retreat. We pray for every blessing on his abbacy and community.

» Also today Fr Hugh, together with Carol Lewis of the abbey church congregation, treated a number of lambs for an outbreak of scald (a foot infection). The process will have to be repeated on Friday.

» Last night Frs Alban and Hugh, joined by Fr Austin at Andover, went to Farleigh School to hear the confessions of the pupils who will be confirmed soon at Portsmouth cathedral.
