WOODS 3


March 2005: a lot of work is being done in the woods, following the winter storms when a number of trees were blown down. Many of these are being cut up and removed, though some are left to provide habitats for insects and small animals. fallen trees
hurdle Some trees are being copiced, these are then protected with hurdles to prevent deer from destroying the new growth.
New paths are being made through eight acre gulley to extend the area available for walking.
bridge steps
A new bridge across the stream.New steps at the west end which provide a new access point to the woods.
