THE WOODS

    Greyfield

notice Greyfield Wood is an area of 38 acres of mixed woodland, containing a pine plantation as well as areas of old, well established, English trees, oak, birch, beech, sycamore and the like. The woods are open to the public for walking, and are managed by the forestry authority.
On the right is seen one of the several streams, which make up the River Bourne, and which eventually runs into the Thames at Pangbourne.

One area of the wood, known as Eight Acre Gully, shown on the right, is left entirely wild to provide natural habitat for various small animals and birds, as well as plants.
