Monastery Building Development

With the sale of the former school buildings it was necessary for the monastic community to embark on the first phase of its building plans,
and construct new refectories for monks and for guests, a new kitchen and additions to the guest accommodation. In the following pages you will see how the construction developed.


1 - Demolition of the Infirmary Block


May 24 2005
Today the contractors appointed to build the monastery extension, Feltham, moved on site and erected protective fencing around the area to be demolished,
the building erected as bursary and used latterly as infirmary. The picture shoes the former entrance to this block.

A temporary internal wall has been set up to separate the part of the building to be demolished from the rest of the monastery.

June 7

A small hole was made in the wall of the coffee room.

The infirmary block has been completely demolished.
