April 30
Work on landscaping:
the lawn areas have been seeded
and the path for the public to reach the library has received its black top.

May 14
As work draws to completion Fr Benjamin and Postulant Edmund plant young lavender plants along the entrance path (left); a bush has been planted in the court below the gothic window (right); the contractor's entrance has been covered with topsoil and seeded (below left); the open cloister leading to the church is finished (below centre); and scaffolding has been removed from the bridge leading to the monastery cloister (below right).

May 15
Views of the Library now that the contractor's fence has been removed.

May 18
Anti-glare glass has been installed in the upper sections of the Reading Room windows.

May 25
The concrete beams for the decorative feature arrive.
A crane arrives in the morning.
The lorry carrying the beams arrives in the afternoon.
The main beam is unloaded
and lifted,
carried across the grass,
and placed neatly on the ground.
