DOUAI ABBEY

Building the New Library 13

October 24

More of the cloister has
been cleared of books.

October 5
Now the work of transferring the books has begun.

The books on subjects more frequently used are being placed on more easily browsable shelves moved from their former location in the cloister. Plenty of space yet to be filled.

One bay nearly full.

The new mobile shelving is receiving the books on topics less frequently used.
Below are pictures of the cloister, showing where bookshelves have been removed and some of the shelves now empty. (Fr Nicholas's electric carriage is visible in the first picture.)

The north cloister leading to the library from the monastery showing the series of four abstract paintings we have been given by the artist, Jonathan Moss.
