Douai Abbey: The Monastery of St Edmund, King & Martyr
Published by HSK in News · 18 January 2018
» As so often happens, just after an update is posted more news comes to hand. Tonight (Thursday) on BBC South Today, which airs on BBC1 at 6.30pm, there will be a story on the Douai Abbey archives, with Fr Abbot showing one or two archival curios to the cameras. Further to this, on Sunday (21 January) he will be talking, live to air, about the archives during the Faith programme on BBC Radio Berkshire between 8.30 and 8.55am. No doubt they will be available online after broadcast on the BBC iPlayer.

» After the gales we experienced last night, some fencing was damaged at the Wolf Conservation Trust at Beenham, about a mile from the monastery. This morning a wolf was spotted on the loose, and a warning was issued to local schools. For some time helicopters could be heard nearby. The middle of this afternoon the wolf was finally re-captured, apparently without any harm to livestock or red riding hoods.
