Douai Abbey: The Monastery of St Edmund, King & Martyr
Published by HSK in News · 1 July 2018
» Yesterday Douai welcomed 15 young people for the EBC Open day. Joining them were a number of monks and nuns from various other EBC houses, as well as members of the Manquehue movement. The hinge of the day was Mass at midday with the Douai community, celebrated by the Abbot President. Either side of the Mass were talks, discussions, one-to-one time, and of course lunch. Though the numbers were fewer than originally planned, the result was very positive for those who came as there was a more communal and engaged atmosphere and there was more individual attention than would have been afforded by greater numbers.

» Last Thursday a large group of Portsmouth diocesan clergy and staff spent a quiet day of recollection at Douai.

» Fr Godric has had some more heart issues and has been readmitted to hospital not long after returning to Ormskirk from Gateshead's Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Please keep him in your prayers.
