Douai Abbey: The Monastery of St Edmund, King & Martyr
Published by HSK in News · 19 February 2018
» Yesterday after conventual Mass in the abbey church, the community, joined by a good number of our congregation, celebrated Exposition and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament as part of our prayer for vocations to Douai Abbey. In praying for our own vocational needs we were not unmindful of the needs of the rest of the EBC and the wider Church. This devotion will be offered after Mass every Sunday in Lent. We hope that as many as feel able will join us in praying for our future.

On Ash Wednesday we were pleased to have welcomed a larger congregation than usual for Mass and the imposition of ashes.

» On Thursday Fr Peter returned from hospital after what ppears to have been a successful hip replacement. He is already remarkably mobile, which augurs well for a good recovery.

» The latest edition of The Douai Magazine has come from the printers and is available at the back of the abbey church or at reception. Those who subscribe will receive their copies soon. Please note that in light of impending data protection legislation our current mailing list will be abandoned and those who would like to continue to receive the Magazine will need to return a slip specifically requesting this. The Magazine continues to be offered free of charge, so any donations towards its production and mailing would be gratefully received!
