This week bees returned to Douai. Two swarms under the command of Buckfast queens are in brand new hives sited in the area once used until a decade ago for our previous colonies of bees, though it is now a little more hi-tech than the plain grass once used. This morning they were hives of activity (sorry, but it had to be said).
