Douai Abbey: The Monastery of St Edmund, King & Martyr
Published by HSK in News · 11 September 2015
» On Tuesday Fr Terence returned to the monastery from the Duchess of Kent hospice. He is now on an enhanced care programme, with professional carers visiting several times a day. Please keep him in your prayers.

» On Wednesday Frs Abbot and Hugh returned from the North East. One reason for the visit was for the Abbot to attend the dedication of the new abbey church at Stanbrook, which moved a few years back to Wass in North Yorkshire. On the way back down they took the opportunity to inspect the progress of the new statue of St Edmund being sculpted by Peter Eugene Ball. It is now very near completion and will be blessed on 20 November by Cardinal Nichols.

» This weekend the community is quite thin on the ground again. Fr Gervase is on holiday, Fr Finbar is on pilgrimage in Spain and Fr Hugh is on supply at Corpus Christi, Covent Garden. Please be understanding if the brethren are not able to attend to enquiries or requests as quickly as you might like.
