For the past week Fr Luke Dysinger OSB, a monk of Valyermo in California, has been staying at Douai to do some research and writing. Fr Luke trained orignally as a physician but is now a respected patristics scholar, with a doctorate from Oxford. His stay has allowed us to share in his scholarship and easy company.

Sadly he learned last night that his mother had died in California, so today he left us in haste to prepare his return home for the funeral. Please keep him and his mother Christine in your prayers.
